How much do we love Christmas when it comes to decorating the home and Christmas tree? At home we tend to make a real fuss when it comes to decorating the Christmas tree. The whole family gets together to help and everyone lends a helping hand in placing the varied ornaments on the tree. Once the tree is done it doesn’t end there. It starts to spread to all areas of the house especially the front yard. That’s where the imagination can really run wild. It can be a dangerous thing too once the roof comes into play, even more so with a double story house, but the results are usually worth it.

In the early 1840's was when Glass Christmas Ornaments began to take shape in North America as a result of immigrating Europeans and their Christmas traditions.
The ornaments started out being clear glass with various shapes and styles. They where hand painted to give them real appeal and glamour. Later the glass blowers began experimenting with their techniques and they found that by silvering the inside of the Christmas ornaments enhanced their uniqueness and beauty.

It was in the 1960, when Aluminum was being used to make Christmas ornaments more and more, because of its strength and better cost effectiveness in the manufacturing process, glass ornaments all but went out of fashion.

Today the choices are plentiful.  Some of the types available are plain glass, vintage glass, lead crystal, crystal glass and painted glass to name a few. Their's various shapes – From balls, stars, angels, icicles to love hearts, Santa and even pets. You will no doubt find what you’re looking for right here.
